FUTURE:PRESENT 2.0
14 July 2023 | Goodwood Theatre and Studios
4 playwrights. 4 directors. 4 actors. 4 world premieres. 1 epic night of South Australian stories.
Theatre Republic's new writing incubator project, FUTURE:PRESENT, returns to the stage in 2023.
Four local playwrights are each given the challenge of writing a new, short play responding to one of the most burning issues of our time - in just four days. A team of actors and directors then have four days to rehearse the works to be presented on one exciting night.
This year playwrights will be invited to write their plays in response to the theme of Democracy. We’ve been told that our democratic rights and freedoms are slowly being eroded. But what is democracy, anyway? Is it an illusion and is it slipping out of our grasp?
Future:Present will be presented for one night only at the Goodwood Theatre and Studios on Friday 14 July at 7:30pm
The first FUTURE:PRESENT, presented in 2021, sold out!
We hope we have your vote.
